Conference Overview

The Investor Relations Society’s 2013 conference will reflect London’s pre-eminence as a centre of excellence for investor relations. Speakers will be drawn from a wide variety of disciplines, sectors and international markets.

The conference will provide delegates with an unrivalled opportunity to meet with senior IROs and IR practitioners from the UK and overseas. Delegates will be able to take part in the debate on key issues in IR and to learn how best practice is developing.

BP, Lloyds Banking Group, Nestle and Vodafone, leading UK and European corporates, will share their IR experience through case studies. Other industry experts will also participate in ‘An International Masterclass in IR’, London 2013. The conference will not only look at the industry from the IRO’s point of view but also cover IR from the perspective of the market commentator, the market operator and the regulator, all adding to a rich and stimulating mix for conference participants.

Based on its track record and reputation, the IR Society Conference attracts high-calibre speakers, with previous keynotes including David Cameron, Vince Cable, Danny Alexander, Xavier Rolet, Sir Roger Carr, Willie Walsh and Sir David Walker.

This year's keynote addresses will be delivered by: 

Sir Nigel Rudd, chairman of Invensys and non-executive chairman of BAA and Pendragon

David Lawton, director of markets, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

Helena Morrissey CBE, CEO, Newton Investment Management and founder of The 30% Club

The conference is well attended by the UK and international IR community with a strong representation from the FTSE 100 and typically attracting more than 250 delegates. In addition to IR directors, the conference is also attended by finance and communcations directors, as well as a wide range of IR advisors.
