During the course of 2009, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) carried out a review of the impact and implementation of the Combined Code, the results of which were published in December. The Investor Relations Society (the Society) has submitted its response to the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) Consultation Paper on the Disclosure of Contracts for Difference, ahead of the FSA’s deadline of 12 February.

Peregrine Riviere, the Chairman of the Society has written a letter to our members outlining the current position in the FSA’s consultation process on disclosure for Contracts for Difference. The Society has been actively lobbying for improved disclosure of CFDs and our feeling is that opinion is moving in our favour.

As this is a critical subject for all our members, and where some strong views are held, we are particularly pleased to have the chance to put forward our members’ opinions.
