EU Commission to publish action plan on corporate governance

The Parliament reports that Ugo Bassi, the EU Commission's internal market and services directorate-general has confirmed that the Commission will table an 'action plan' on corporate governance later this year designed to improve the "accountability and responsibility" of financial institutions. Following the Commission's Green paper on corporate governance in financial institutions the EU in general is looking at ways to strengthen corporate governance across member states.
