John Dawson to become chairman of the Investor Relations Society
The Investor Relations Society today announces that Richard Davies will be retiring as Chairman at the AGM on 21 June 2011. John Dawson, currently Deputy Chairman of the Society and Director of Investor Relations at National Grid plc, will take over as Chairman and Karen Keyes, Head of Investor Relations at Logica plc, will become Deputy Chairman after the AGM.
Commenting on his appointment John Dawson said:
‘I am delighted to be taking over the Chairmanship in June at this exciting time in the Society's development. Richard Davies has provided inspiring leadership over the last two years and in particular he has helped to make the Society more relevant to the needs of its members. The quality of communication between companies and investors remains at the heart of an effective UK market. As regulatory focus on this area increases, the Society will play an even more important role in representing the voice of issuers. I look forward to taking on this challenge.'
