Many thanks to everyone who attended this week's annual policy forum kindly held at 3i. An expert panel of speakers summarised the economic developments of last year and looked forward to 2011 covering areas from UK and European equities to levels of US debt and Chinese output in the context of the impact on the investor relations profession. In general, an optimistic note was sounded regarding global economic performance for 2011 although the UK will need to consider the impact of rising inflation and possible interest rate increases in the year ahead. Cash on balance sheets was another topic discussed by the panel.
